Delegation from the Agency for Financial Support of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Director Mr. Nikica Bachovski attended the 51st Conference of Directors of EU Paying Agencies.
Apart from delegations from the EU Member States, at this Conference were invited the Western Balkan countries with EU candidate status, as well as representatives from the Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development - DG AGRI and OLAF representatives.
The two-day conference discussed the current situation regarding the military conflict in Ukraine and its impact on the inputs to agriculture, energy prices and the availability of cereals in European markets.
It was additionally concluded that the cooperation and networking of payment agencies from Europe will be a top priority, especially in the period that follows when the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy 2021 -2027 should start (CAP 2021 - 2027).
At the Conference was shared information on the additional agriculture financial assistance that EU members receive for the agricultural sector due to the increased costs.
The Director of the IPARD Paying Agency, Mr. Nikica Bachovski explained the model for additional support for agriculture that is implemented in North Macedonia through the Intervention Fund as a counterpart to the mechanisms undertaken by EU member states.
